Comparison

Netiva vs Lovable,
compared for sites, apps and stores.

We compare Netiva and Lovable on what each builds, how you build, content, commerce, code, hosting, teamwork and price — including where Lovable is the better pick.

The short answer

Netiva and Lovable both turn a chat into a working web app with a live preview, and both let you keep the code. They differ in what comes built in. Netiva includes a CMS (collections) and a full store with stock, checkout, tax and shipping in the same workspace, with subscriptions, digital downloads and memberships from the Business plan. Lovable leans toward full-stack web apps, with two-way Git sync, a built-in AI connector, a built-in backend with many sign-in methods and built-in payments powered by Paddle and Stripe. Neither builds native iOS or Android apps. Pick Netiva for content-heavy sites and stores that ship physical goods; pick Lovable if Git workflows, in-app AI or billing inside the product matter most.

Netiva is best for

Content-heavy websites, web apps and stores that sell physical products, built and run in one workspace with a built-in CMS and commerce

Lovable is best for

Full-stack web apps and SaaS products where developers work in Git, the app needs built-in AI features, or billing should run inside the product on Paddle or Stripe

Feature by feature

What you can build

Both cover sites and data-backed web apps

About even

Netiva

Netiva builds marketing sites, web apps, online stores, booking systems, portfolios and docs — anything from a one-page site to a full SaaS product with data and checkout. Web apps cover dashboards, portals and SaaS products with real data, and end users can sign in to see their own records. Apps can call any REST API, with keys stored securely.

Lovable

Lovable’s FAQ says it’s used mainly for full-stack web applications: SaaS products, internal tools, dashboards, CRMs and client portals, booking and marketplace apps, company websites and landing pages and portfolios. The same answer adds that Lovable also creates things that are not apps: pitch decks and presentations, short videos and downloadable files. Backend features come from Lovable’s built-in backend (Cloud), Supabase or third-party APIs. Cloud also handles app sign-in, with email, phone, Google, Apple, Microsoft and SAML SSO listed as options.[1][12][15]

Both tools stretch from a landing page to a data-backed web app where users sign in. If your users need a specific sign-in method, such as SAML SSO or Apple, Lovable documents those options.

How you build

Chat-first building with a live preview

About even

Netiva

You describe what you want and Netiva’s agent writes pages, wires data and ships changes while you watch a live preview. You steer it by annotating the preview or @mentioning files, then keep chatting to refine. No coding is needed, but if you code you can open the editor, change files directly and flip between the live app and its source in one click.

Lovable

Lovable is chat-first too: you describe what you want and Lovable builds it for you. A preview toolbar lets you pick an element and edit it directly, describe a change, draw an annotation or leave a comment. Ready-made Lovable templates can be remixed as a starting point on any plan. Editing the code by hand needs a paid plan: the plan table lists Edit code on Pro, Business and Enterprise, not on Free.[3][4][12]

The day-to-day loop is much the same: chat, check the preview, point at what should change. If editing code by hand matters to you, check which plan includes code editing on each side.

Content and CMS

A built-in CMS versus connected content

Edge: Netiva

Netiva

Netiva includes a CMS called collections. You model any content with nine field types, auto-generated slugs, relations, required fields and default values, and edit it in a spreadsheet-like grid with saved filter and sort views. Bind a collection to your pages and list, detail and dynamic pages render automatically. A collection-aware assistant reformats, translates or fills fields across many rows at once. It also drafts new records for review.

Lovable

A built-in CMS isn’t described on Lovable’s site. Its docs describe connecting a headless CMS instead: for example, the Contentful connector lets a Lovable app fetch published content from a Contentful space through Contentful’s Content Delivery API, for content-driven pages. App data can also live in Lovable’s built-in backend (Cloud), in Supabase or behind third-party APIs.[5][12]

If editors will manage lots of structured content — posts, listings, products — Netiva keeps it in the same workspace as the site. With Lovable you’d plan a data store or connect an outside headless CMS such as Contentful.

Commerce

A full store versus built-in payments

Depends on your project

Netiva

Commerce is part of Netiva: products with sizes, colors, SKUs and per-variant pricing and stock, categories and merchandised collections, products that stay in Draft until you mark them Active and a low-stock flag in the product list. Cards work out of the box, with a hosted one-page checkout, automatic tax and multi-currency. Checkout runs on Stripe, with PayPal alongside it from the Pro plan, and subscriptions, digital downloads and memberships come with the Business plan and up. Orders move through a pipeline for fulfillment, refunds and customer notes, and shipping covers multiple warehouses, real carrier rates, labels and tracking.

Lovable

Lovable lists booking and marketplace apps among the things it’s mainly used for. Its built-in payments take subscriptions and one-time payments through two providers, Paddle and Stripe. They need the Pro plan or higher; on Free you can connect your own Stripe account instead. For a physical-goods store, Lovable points to its Shopify integration. Its built-in Stripe payments can also take payment for physical products, but inventory and logistics are managed separately.[1][7]

For physical goods, Netiva includes stock, carrier rates and labels alongside checkout, while Lovable uses Shopify or leaves shipping to you. For software billing, Lovable has built-in Paddle and Stripe payments; Netiva sells subscriptions from Business.

Code ownership

You own the code on both, but Git sync differs

Edge: Lovable

Netiva

Netiva writes clean, framework-standard production code that you own. You can read and edit it in the editor and toggle between the live app and its source in one click. Export it whenever you want: there’s no proprietary runtime and no lock-in, so the code goes with you if you move on.

Lovable

Lovable says you own the code and projects you build. Git sync keeps that code in your own GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket repository with automatic two-way sync, and its provider table lists github.com, GitLab.com and Bitbucket Cloud on all plans, including Free. Downloading the codebase is listed on the paid plans.[2][3][8]

If your developers work in Git every day, Lovable documents two-way sync with your own repository, which Netiva’s site doesn’t describe. Netiva’s export suits teams that want a copy of the code to take with them.

Hosting and domains

Hosting included, custom domains on paid plans

About even

Netiva

Netiva handles global hosting, automatic SSL and preview URLs, and you ship to your domain in one click. Connecting a custom domain is available from the Starter plan, so you can go live on your own address once you upgrade.

Lovable

Hosting is part of Lovable, not a separate product or add-on. Publishing to a lovable.app address is free on every plan, while custom domains need a paid plan. HTTPS is handled for you: Lovable sets up the SSL certificate automatically, including for custom domains. A live site doesn’t consume credits on its own, so the running cost follows what the app does rather than a hosting bill.[6]

Both include hosting, automatic SSL and an address you can publish to for free, and both ask for a paid plan before you use your own domain.

Collaboration

Live teamwork and workspace controls

Depends on your project

Netiva

Netiva has real-time collaboration: invite teammates to the same workspace, see their cursors as they work and leave comments right on the preview. Everyone builds the same live project together instead of passing files around. Role-based access for team members comes with the Pro plan, and single sign-on with two-factor authentication is part of Enterprise. Each Netiva plan includes a set number of seats; the pricing page lists them.

Lovable

Lovable workspaces support unlimited members on every plan, and plans are priced by the credits they include rather than by seats. Invited collaborators see changes as they happen. Granular permissions and role assignment need a paid subscription, and single sign-on (SSO) is listed for the Business and Enterprise plans.[2][3][10]

Both let a team build together live. Lovable takes unlimited members on every plan, with roles on paid plans and SSO from Business. Netiva includes seats in each plan, adds role-based access from Pro and single sign-on on Enterprise.

Versioning and rollback

Checkpoints, versions and rollback

About even

Netiva

Every edit in Netiva is checkpointed. You can branch, compare and roll back to any moment without losing work, so you can try a bigger change and back out of it if it doesn’t land the way you wanted.

Lovable

Every change Lovable makes to a project creates a version automatically. Drafts are separate lines of work you accept back into the project, and an accepted draft lands in the history as its own named group of edits. Reverting to an earlier version restores the project’s code only; it doesn’t restore or roll back database data.[11]

The two tools cover the same ground: automatic history, a way to try a change apart from the main project and rollback. In Lovable, remember that a revert leaves your database as it is.

Mobile

Web apps on phones, not app store builds

About even

Netiva

Netiva builds responsive web apps that run in any browser, including on phones, so there’s nothing for your users to install. Web apps can use the phone’s camera to scan barcodes. Netiva doesn’t produce native iOS or Android builds or app store packages.

Lovable

Lovable builds web apps, and publishing deploys to a web URL. There isn’t a built-in flow that packages a project and submits it to the App Store or Google Play, and Lovable doesn’t generate React Native projects. Its docs give two other paths to an installable app: make the published app a Progressive Web App, or wrap the published URL in a native shell with Capacitor outside Lovable and submit that shell to the stores.[9][12]

Neither tool builds native apps for your users: both publish to the web. Lovable documents a PWA or a Capacitor wrapper as ways to turn what you publish into something installable.

USD. Monthly prices are billed monthly; yearly prices are shown per month, billed annually. Pro and Business prices are for the entry tier of 100 monthly credits. Checked Sep 20, 2026.

Lovable prices plans by credits, not seats. One credit balance pays for building, running published apps and AI features. Pro and Business scale from 100 to 10,000 monthly credits, up to $2,250 and $4,300 a month on monthly billing, and both list credit rollovers and on-demand top-ups; Enterprise credit pricing is volume-based and set by contract. The Free plan gets 5 build credits a day, capped at 30 a month, and no top-ups.

Decision

Which should you choose?

Choose Netiva if…

  • You want a CMS built in, so editors manage posts, listings or products in a spreadsheet-like grid bound to your pages
  • You sell physical products and need variants, stock, one-page checkout, tax, carrier rates and labels in one place
  • You want a website, a web app and a store in the same workspace instead of wiring separate services together
  • You need to clean, translate or fill in many content records at once with a collection-aware assistant

Choose Lovable if…

  • Your developers want the code in GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket with automatic two-way sync
  • Your app needs AI features such as chatbots, summaries or image generation without managing API keys
  • You want subscriptions or one-time payments inside the product itself, through Lovable’s built-in Paddle and Stripe payments
  • You want many people in one workspace on plans priced by credits rather than seats
  • You want ready-made connectors to tools like Slack, Notion, HubSpot or Google Workspace, or a custom connector for any REST API

Where Lovable is stronger

  • Two-way Git sync keeps the code in your own GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket repository, listed on all plans, and the paid plans can also download the codebase[3][8]
  • The built-in backend covers AI features such as chatbots, summaries and image generation with no API keys, and app sign-in with email, phone, Google, Apple, Microsoft or SAML SSO[14][15]
  • Built-in payments for subscriptions and one-time payments through Paddle and Stripe on Pro and above, with your own Stripe account as the path on Free[7]
  • Unlimited workspace members on every plan, granular permissions on paid plans, and a connector catalog for tools like Slack, Notion, HubSpot and Google Workspace[2][10][13]

What Netiva doesn’t do

  • No native iOS or Android apps: Netiva builds responsive web apps, not App Store or Google Play packages.
  • No importer: nothing brings a Lovable project, its code or its data into Netiva automatically.
  • Git sync with GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket isn’t described on Netiva’s site; the documented way to take your code with you is exporting it.
  • No built-in AI features or ready-made connectors to services like Slack or HubSpot in the apps you build; both mean calling a provider’s REST API with your own key, stored securely.
Switching

Moving from Lovable to Netiva

There’s no importer, so moving from Lovable means rebuilding with the agent rather than copying files in. Most of the work is describing what your current app does and recreating its content in collections. Before you start, keep a copy of your Lovable code through Git sync or, on a paid plan, a code download, so you have a reference while you rebuild.

  1. Save a copy of your Lovable project

Sync the code to your own GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket repository, or download it on a paid Lovable plan. List the pages, data, payments and sign-in flows the app relies on.

  2. Describe the app to the agent

Tell Netiva’s agent what the app does, who uses it and which screens it needs. Annotate the live preview or @mention files until it matches what you had.

  3. Recreate your content in collections

Model each content type with the fields you need. There’s no importer, but the collection assistant can draft records from a description and clean or reformat rows in bulk.

  4. Rebuild sign-in, emails and API calls

Ask the agent for user sign-in, email reminders or digests and calls to the REST APIs your app used, with API keys stored securely.

  5. Reconnect your domain and publish

Custom domains are available from the Starter plan. Connect your domain, then publish in one click; global hosting and automatic SSL are handled for you.

  • Your exported Lovable code is a reference for the rebuild, not something Netiva imports; the agent recreates the app from your description.

  • Features built on Lovable’s AI connector need another approach in Netiva: calling an AI provider’s API with your own key, stored securely.

  • Keep the Lovable app live until the Netiva version is published and your domain points to it, so visitors don’t hit a gap.

FAQ

Netiva vs Lovable: common questions

Is Netiva a good Lovable alternative?

It depends on what you’re building. Netiva is a strong alternative if you want a built-in CMS and a store with stock, checkout, tax and shipping alongside your website and web app. Lovable fits better if your team works in Git, your app needs built-in AI features or you want Lovable’s built-in Paddle or Stripe billing inside a software product. Both are chat-first, show a live preview and let you keep your code, so the choice usually comes down to those built-in pieces.

How does Lovable pricing compare with Netiva?

Both have a free plan. Lovable prices its plans by credits rather than seats: Pro starts at $25 a month and Business at $50 a month for 100 monthly credits, and higher credit tiers cost more. One Lovable credit balance covers building, running published apps and AI features. Netiva’s paid plans — Starter, Pro, Business and Enterprise — add capacity and features: custom domain connection from Starter, advanced SEO tools and role-based access from Pro, subscriptions and digital downloads from Business. The pricing table above shows both sides, checked on the date listed.

Can I export my code from Lovable and from Netiva?

Yes, both say you own your code. Netiva writes framework-standard code you can read, edit and export whenever you want, with no proprietary runtime. Lovable offers two-way Git sync with your own GitHub, GitLab or Bitbucket repository, listed on all plans, and paid Lovable plans can also download the codebase. Exported Lovable code can’t be imported into Netiva, though; treat it as a reference while the agent rebuilds your app.

Can Netiva or Lovable build native iOS and Android apps?

Not directly. Netiva builds responsive web apps that run in any browser, including on phones, and those web apps can scan barcodes with the phone’s camera. Lovable publishes to a web URL as well: it has no built-in flow that packages a project for the App Store or Google Play and doesn’t generate React Native projects. Its docs describe two other paths to an installable app — make the published app a Progressive Web App, or wrap the published URL in a native shell with Capacitor outside Lovable.

How do I move a project from Lovable to Netiva?

Save your Lovable code through Git sync or a code download, then describe the app to Netiva’s agent and refine it in the live preview. Recreate your content in collections — there’s no importer, but the collection assistant can generate and clean records. Then connect your custom domain, available from the Starter plan, and publish. Plan to rebuild features that used Lovable’s AI connector by calling an AI provider’s API with your own key.

Which is better for an online store, Netiva or Lovable?

For physical products, Netiva has the store built in: variants and stock, a hosted one-page checkout on Stripe, automatic tax, multi-currency, warehouses, carrier rates and labels. Lovable lists marketplace apps among what it builds, and its built-in payments take subscriptions and one-time payments through Paddle and Stripe, but it points sellers who need a physical-goods store to its Shopify integration. Its built-in Stripe payments can take payment for physical products too, with inventory and logistics managed separately.
